The best of Romania

Pa: die groen en die nat!

Pa: Man ek klap jou sommer Anna, ek wil dit compose!

For me: the region of Maramûres blew my mind! I just loved the fact that everybody still wears the traditional clothes, even the youngsters, although they have adapted and they now wearing their outfits with very high heals!

The massive hand carved wooden crosses in the landscape and the ornate woodwork and wooden gates that are at the entrance of their properties are totally extraordinary!

The magnificent and inexpensive woven and embroidered carpets, cushions and bed throws are inspirational.

I so loved the wooden churches that have stood the test of time, since the 1300's. They are all Unesco protected sites. They are truly awesome and very beautiful, straight out of a fairy tale.

My ma beaam alles!
